Corporate Retreats: Aiming to combine business with leisure
The customizable nature of a yacht charter allows for tailored experiences to suit various preferences and occasions.
Croatia, with its Mediterranean climate, offers a broad window into when you can visit it on a yacht charter. If you prefer milder temperatures and lesser crowds, we suggest visiting in spring or fall. Even though the summer season sees the most traffic, you can enjoy a cruise outside it just as much, if not more.
Booking yacht charters right before or already in the season is virtually impossible. Therefore, we recommend you aim to book the preferred vessel at least 6 months in advance to avoid the risk of losing out on it or the preferred dates.
After confirming the availability of your chosen yacht and your booking coming through, you will receive a MYBA charter agreement. MYBA is the Mediterranean Yacht Broker Association and sets the standards for everyone in the industry to adhere to. With it, we can guarantee you the impeccable service you seek. The agreement will also include any additional charges and taxes that may apply to your choice of itinerary.
While spontaneous exploration is part of the yachting allure, outlining a preliminary itinerary in advance is advisable. This approach ensures that your desired destinations and activities are feasible within the charter period.
Absolutely. Luxury yacht charters are designed to offer personalized experiences tailored to your preferences. You can customize various aspects, including the itinerary, onboard amenities, dining options, and activities. Whether you’re interested in water sports, exploring historical sites, or indulging in gourmet cuisine, the crew can arrange experiences to match your desires. It’s advisable to communicate your preferences and special requests in advance to ensure a seamless and tailored experience.
Overnight anchoring in serene natural bays is certainly an option, but there are a few factors to consider. Primarily, it is crucial to take weather conditions into account and heed the advice of your skilled captain for safety purposes. Additionally, locating secluded bays might prove challenging during peak season, and maintaining tranquility after midnight is expected. If planning a large celebration, it is advisable to inform the captain beforehand to preempt any potential complications. Anchoring in bays offers a delightful opportunity for morning swims and delightful dinners beneath the stars, yet it is suggested to converse with your captain and arrange for dinner instead of lunch when opting for a half-board package.
In addition to the base charter fee, clients should anticipate several supplementary expenses:
Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA): Paid in advance, it covers any additional expenses you rack up during your charter week. It includes fuel, marina fees, on-yacht meals, water toy usage, services, etc. Per the MYBA agreement, it’s usually in the range of 30-40% of the full price. If by the end of your cruise, you haven’t spent the entire amount, you’ll receive the remainder of it back. If your expenses exceed the upfront paid amount, you’ll have to cover them before disembarking.
Gratuities: While discretionary, it’s customary to tip the crew around 10-15% of the charter fee, reflecting the quality of service provided.
Value Added Tax (VAT): In Croatia, a VAT of 13% is applicable on the charter fee.
Special Requests: Any bespoke services or premium items not covered by the APA may incur additional charges.
The provisioning of food and beverages is typically arranged according to the client’s preferences. These provisions are funded through the APA, allowing for a customized dining experience tailored to your tastes. Prior to embarkation, you’ll have the opportunity to communicate your culinary preferences, dietary restrictions, and any specific requests to ensure the onboard menu aligns with your expectations.
Crewed Charter: All of our services include crewed charters. This option includes a professional crew—typically a captain, chef, and additional staff—who manage all aspects of sailing, navigation, and hospitality. It’s ideal for those seeking a luxurious and relaxed experience without the responsibilities of operating the yacht.
Bareboat Charter: In this arrangement, you rent the yacht without a crew. You’re responsible for sailing, navigation, and all operational duties. To opt for a bareboat charter, you or someone in your party must have the appropriate sailing qualifications and experience.
On a crewed yacht charter, you can anticipate a high level of personalized service. The crew is dedicated to ensuring your comfort and satisfaction throughout the journey. Services typically include:
Navigation and Sailing: The captain handles all aspects of sailing and route planning, ensuring a safe and enjoyable voyage.
Culinary Experiences: A professional chef prepares gourmet meals tailored to your dietary preferences and requests.
Housekeeping: Crew members maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the yacht, attending to your cabin and common areas regularly.
Activity Coordination: The crew can organize and facilitate various activities, such as water sports, excursions, and entertainment, based on your interests.
The crew is fluent in English. Some members are even multilingual, speaking languages like Spanish, Italian, German, etc. If you have any preferences, you may let us know, and we will find the best solution for you.
Gratuities are not subject to any written agreement, but they are customary. Depending on your satisfaction with the crew and service, you can pay between 10% and 15% to the captain, who will divide it among the entire staff.
